"Coach spotlight: Coach Alexandra"
| Boldly
In this Coach Spotlight interview for Boldly, I share more about my international career journey, executive coaching philosophy, cross-cultural experience, and the work I do supporting leaders, female executives, and expats navigating complexity, transitions, and change across cultures — from growing up in Russia to building a global career working with leaders from 35+ countries.

In this Coach Spotlight interview with Boldly, I share more about my personal and professional journey across executive coaching, Organizational Development, Talent Management, leadership development, and cross-cultural work.
The conversation starts with my childhood growing up in Vladivostok, Russia, before later moving across the country to Saint Petersburg at a young age. Looking back, I realize that this early experience of relocation and adaptation probably shaped much of the way I later approached change, uncertainty, cultural transitions, and human adaptation both personally and professionally.
I also share reflections on my experience building a life in Colombia and why Bogotá became one of the few places where I genuinely felt I didn’t need to leave to “escape” on vacation. We talk about Colombian culture, diversity, everyday life in Bogotá, and some of the places I often recommend to people visiting Colombia for the first time, including Villa de Leyva, Cartagena, and the Coffee Triangle.
Another important part of the conversation focuses on my work with Internations, one of the world’s largest international expat communities, where I served as a Newcomers Ambassador in Bogotá. In the interview, I talk about helping expats navigate life abroad, build community, adapt to Colombian culture, and manage some of the practical realities of relocation, including visas, bureaucracy, logistics, and social adaptation.
The feature also explores my professional background across Learning & Development, Organizational Development, leadership development, and Talent Management.
Main topics covered:
Building and leading Learning & Development functions
Leading Organizational Development initiatives across international companies
Supporting talent development and leadership pipelines
Corporate culture and employee engagement
Leadership development across multicultural environments
Scaling people and Organizational Development strategies internationally
Working across Latin America, the Caribbean, India, the Middle East, and Russia
One of the central themes of the interview is the growing importance of executive coaching and leadership development inside organizations.
In the feature, I share why obtaining my Professional Certified Coach (PCC) accreditation through the International Coaching Federation was so important to me professionally. We discuss the importance of coaching ethics, professional standards, credibility, and the need to differentiate professional coaching from the growing number of loosely defined “coaching” practices online.
The interview also explores my research and experience integrating coaching into talent development and Organizational Development environments. Drawing from my corporate experience leading Learning & Development and Organizational Development functions, I discuss how coaching can positively influence:
Leadership development
Employee confidence and communication
Psychological safety and trust
Collaboration and team relationships
Organizational culture
Leadership readiness and succession
Employee engagement and growth
Another major part of the conversation focuses on cross-cultural coaching and international leadership.
Having lived in five countries and worked across more than 20 cultures, I share how cultural upbringing influences communication styles, emotional expression, leadership behaviors, values, conflict management, and decision-making. In the interview, I talk about how cross-cultural awareness became one of the most important aspects of my coaching approach when supporting leaders and professionals from different backgrounds.
The feature also explores my work supporting women leaders in traditionally male-dominated industries. We discuss how embodiment coaching can help women strengthen confidence, presence, resilience, emotional awareness, and leadership effectiveness in environments where visibility and self-trust can become especially challenging.
Toward the end of the interview, I also reflect on why I work both with executives and expats. While these audiences may initially appear very different, both often navigate high levels of uncertainty, reinvention, pressure, complexity, and identity shifts. In many ways, both journeys require learning how to evolve and adapt without losing yourself in the process.
The interview concludes with examples of coaching transformations and practical insights into how organizations can use executive coaching and leadership development to support employees, leaders, organizational culture, and long-term business growth.
Today, I continue supporting leaders, executives, HR professionals, founders, female leaders, expats, and internationally mobile professionals navigating leadership, Organizational Development, cross-cultural communication, multicultural environments, transitions, and organizational change through executive coaching, leadership consulting, and Organizational Development work.
I currently work with clients from more than 35 countries in English, Spanish, and Russian.
